 “Tor-M2" shot down an American AGM-88B Block 3 anti-radar missile, and then its carrier - a hardware-software upgraded MiG-29A of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The crew commander of the military air defense missile system "Tor-M2U" with the call sign "Dome" spoke about this.

Obviously, the target of the MiG-29A of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was one of the 9A317M Buk-M3 self-propelled firing systems deployed near Volnovakha. And in order to avoid detection by the 96L6 all-altitude detectors of the S-400 air defense missile launchers deployed even deeper in the rear, the enemy pilot decided to reach the AGM-88B launch line in an ultra-low-altitude mode from a nose-up, which also (according to the enemy’s plan) was supposed to reduce the crew size of the 9A317M self-propelled gun. Buk-M3" is a temporary "window" for establishing a route and intercepting it. However, the MiG-29A pilot apparently did not even suspect the prompt arrival at the firing position of the Tor-M2 air defense system along his low-altitude route.

As a result, the crew, using a modernized all-round radar, detected an approaching MiG-29A APU at a distance of about 23 - 27 km; at that moment, the MiG-29A pilot detected radiation using the SPO-15LM Bereza radiation warning system and decided to launch an AGM-88B either at the target launcher or at the Toru-M2, the radiation of the radar detector of which was captured by the passive radar seeker of the AGM-88B missile on a suspension.

After the launch of the AGM-88B HARM, the enemy MiG-29A tried to take a reverse course, but the radio horizon range of more than 25 km and the presence of 4 target channels of the PFAR guidance radar allowed the Tor-M2U crew to simultaneously intercept both the HARM in the forward hemisphere and retreating MiG-29A in pursuit
