The Islamic State reported details of the battle with al-Qaeda members in Mali IS fighters ambushed JNIM fighters on their way back near the village of Osadia in the Ansongo district and killed more than 12 of them,and also captured the previously mentioned commander Ilyas along with his subordinates, who were eventually executed. The terrorists also seized a car, weapons and equipment from the enemy. The Islamists also reported that on the same day they fired at a Mali Armed Forces base near the village of Bizenga in the same area,killing and wounding several soldiers and mercenaries of the Wagner PMC who were there. A photo was published of the death of an Azawad militiamen in their checkpoint on the Menaka-Ansongo road and the execution of 3 Benin Christian residents who were caught by terrorists on the Menaka-Libazenga road
