Cluster Bomb / Submunition event in Novopavlivka area, Ukraine on Wed 13th March 2024
13th March 2024
Russian recon UAV spotted three Ukrainian helicopters at a jump FARP (48.1644767, 36.8194164) near Novopavlivka, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, roughly 48 km from the front line. Russia then targeted them with a cluster munition (perhaps a 9M549 rocket). Two Mi-17V-5 helicopters were apparently immobilized and later struck by what appear to be Kh-35U missiles.
In the second video, Russian UAV tracked a supply truck (apparently carrying S-8 unguided rockets) back to a nearby depot in Novopavlivka (48.1578741, 36.8130026), which was then struck, reportedly by a Su-34.
Yesterday, Ukraine’s 12th Army Aviation Brigade indicated two of its pilots had been killed. So the helicopters might’ve come from that brigade.
