On 2 March 2024, in Salingyi town (Salingyi township, Yinmarbin district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military fired 60 mm heavy weapons in the morning which fell and exploded into the town and injured a 50-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman. A member of PDF claimed that the military fired heavy weapons as they had information that PDF troops advanced to attack them.
