The Irrawaddy, KNU announced that 1 prisoner was killed in the airstrike

Baguio, The Karen National Union (KNU) reported that 1 prisoner was killed and 18 were injured in Kyaukgyi Township (Leddo Township) from February 24th to 29th due to air and heavy weapon fire attacks by the Military Council.

On February 25, the Military Council reported that 45-year-old detainee U Than Zaw Oo was killed and 13 civilians and 5 members of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) were injured due to aerial bombardment and machine gun fire on the Ht Mo Githa Police Station and Kyungtaw Camp in Kyaukgyi Township.

U Than Zaw Oo, the deceased, was in Kyauk Chdda Township, The KNU said that he was a resident of Zarappan village and was arrested for working as an informant for the coup military council.

As the military council, there were 36 aircraft and drone shootings in Kyaukgyi village between February 24 and 29. The KNU claimed that 7 houses and a clinic were damaged due to the 303 rounds of artillery fire.
