On 17 February 2024, in Ramree town (Ramree township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes on the town with an Mi-35 helicopter gunship at around 12 pm and with four fighter jets at around 5:30 pm. The military naval base also fired artillery rounds starting from around 9 am. More than 200 houses in No.4 Kin Te ward and Ah Lel Su Chaung Kan Nar area were caught on fire. Casualties unknown.
