On 20 February 2024, an explosion occurred near a security checkpoint in front of the Soli square in the first security zone of Lashkargah city, Helmand. A Taliban official from the Information and Culture Directorate confirmed that the blast did not cause casualties. While the nature of the explosion remained unclear, some said that a motorcycle bomb went off in the area.
