On 21 February 2024, overnight, US forces in coordination with government security forces (SNA), conducted an airstrike targeting Al Shabaab positions in Kurtunwaarey town (Kurtunwaarey, Lower Shabelle). Al Shabaab claimed the airstrike injured three civilians. An unknown number of Al Shabaab members were killed by the strike. Unspecified number of fatalities mentioned coded as 3.
