On 22 February 2024, JNIM claimed to have targeted a Burkinabe army convoy by detonating a landmine between Tougouri (Tougouri, Namentenga) and Pissila (Pissila, Sanmatenga). The attack caused human and material damages, the statement claimed. Casualties unknown.
