On 23 February 2024, near Hnget Pyaw Chaung village (Myebon township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), an unknown armed group planted a remote explosive, which exploded and injured a 50-year-old man who was collecting food for his cows near a mountain around 9:45 am and lost his right leg. Local claimed that the Myanmar military troops were previously stationed in that area. He was sent to the Myebon Hospital to receive treatments.
