On February 24, a joint team of state and central security forces (SFs) launched search operations at two different locations in Churachandpur District of Manipur and recovered fake currency notes, a huge cache of arms and ammunition and explosives, reports Northeast Now. In the first operation launched at the outskirts of D Haolenjang village bordering D Moljang village in Churachandpur District, the joint team seized six denominations of INR 200 Fake Currency (FICN) notes amounting to INR 1200, three locally- made Single Barrel Guns, one pistol, two 9mm ammunition, two Country improvised long-range heavy mortars, one tear gas gun, one tear smoke shell soft nose and two tear smoke shell (CS). In the follow-up actions in the general area in Moljang village in Churachandpur, one 303 Rifle with magazine, one 9mm pistol with magazine, eight single barrel, one.22mm pistol with magazine, one 9mm CMG (carbine machine gun) with magazine, eight gelatine sticks, 50 7.62 mm ammunition of 303 rifles, and one icom radio set were recovered.
