On January 14, an exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani Forces took place along the International border in Khour area of Akhnoor sector in Jammu District, reports Daily Excelsior. Army later clarified that it was a speculative exchange of fire and no ceasefire violation (CFV) has taken place. “The news of CFV on Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor sector is circulating on various media platforms. It is clarified that no CFV has occurred,” a Defence spokesman said. He added that it is just a speculative exchange of fire due to fog and poor visibility, which is a normal activity on forward posts.
