HOMS, Syria (North Press) – A soldier of the Syrian government forces was killed and five others were injured on Monday in a landmine explosion in northern Homs, central Syria.

A source in the government forces in Homs said that a landmine explosion killed a government soldier and injured five others, one of whom is a high-ranking officer.

The source added that the mine exploded with a military vehicle during a combing operation in the surroundings of the village al-Darwishiyah in the Jubb al-Jarrah district in northern Homs Governorate.

The injured troops were transferred to the nearby al-Mukharram National Hospital at the city of al-Mukharram for treatment, the source further said.
