Bomb sent to judge’s office defused
A package bomb sent to a judge’s office in northern Greece was defused by anti-explosives experts, according to police reports. The judge in Thessaloniki considered the package suspicious and did not open it, instead calling the court police who evacuated the building. Few members of the public were present in court at the time, as most trials have been postponed due to a lawyers’ strike. A scan revealed that the package contained a bomb, which was then defused by army experts. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the shipment, although similar attacks by small far-left groups against symbols of authority have occurred in recent years. This incident comes in the same week as three people were shot to death in the offices of a shipping company near Athens, with the alleged attacker committing suicide.
