On 28 January 2024, near Kyun Taw of Seikphyu township (Pakokku district, Magway region), following the mine attack by the People's Defense Force - Pakokku District Battalion-11 (coded separately), the military conducted airstrikes on villages along the Pathein-Monywa and Seikpyu-Saw roads and hit and injured three members of PDF - Pakokku District who were providing security on the Pathein-Monywa road and at least eight civilians from Paing, Wungyi and Thekkeikyin villages.
