On 30 January 2024, International forces (likely US forces, due to their active involvement in conducting airstrikes in Somalia and are supporting the fight against Al Shabaab), in coordination with government security forces (SNA), conducted an airstrike against Al Shabaab in Jexjex area near Caad town (Xarardheere, Mudug). One senior militants was killed.
