On 31 January 2024, in Ma Au village of Monywa township (Monywa district, Sagaing region), joint forces of Myaung Special People's Defense Force (MSPDF), NRDF: Natogyi Regional Defense Force, PDF - Monywa District (Battalion-12 Unit-2, Battalion-9, Battalion-5, Battalion-7), PDF - Meiktila District Battalion-3, People's Defense Force - Chauk, and SGF: Special Guerrilla Force Monywa carried out four drone strikes against the Myanmar military troops stationed at Ma Au checkpoint rom 11:45 am to 12:30 pm. The joint forces dropped four aerial bombs using 'Shar Htoo Waw '' Fixed Wings drone. Five military soldiers died and three others were seriously injured.
