On 1 February 2024, at 12:45pm Sanaa time, Houthi forces launched two anti-ship ballistic missiles towards the Liberian-flagged, Bermuda-owned cargo container ship M/V KOI (IMO:9461489) 57 nautical kilometers west of Al Hudaydah (coded to Coast of Al Hudaydah). The ballistic missiles fell in the water without hitting the vessel. The Houthis officially announced that they targeted 'a British commercial ship' in South Red Sea allegedly on its way to Israel.
