On 2 February 2024, an explosion occurred near the front wall of the Provincial Election Commission office in Karachi - Saddar town (Karachi City, Sindh). There were no casualties/fatalities. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The IED had been kept inside a plastic bag in the Election Commission office's parking lot, from where a worker picked it up and threw it in the garbage outside the building, where the explosion occurred.
