On 2 February 2024, in Za Yang Gyi village (coded as Za Yang Ywar Ma) (Namhsan township, Pa Laung Self-Administered Zone, Shan-North state), an artillery round belonging to the military was discovered by three children (a 6-year-old, a 10-year-old, and an 11-year-old) in No.7 ward and exploded while they were playing with it near a hospital. The artillery round was a remnant from the previous battles in Namhsan town. All three children were killed.
