On 2 February 2024, JNIM claimed to have targeted and destroyed a vehicle of the Malian army and Wagner mercenaries between Nampala and Diabaly (Niono, Segou). Those inside the vehicle were killed, according to the statement. JNIM displayed the remains of the vehicle, corpses, and ammunition and equipment said captured. Unknown fatalities coded as 3.
