On 20 January 2024, in Nga Hpei Inn village of Kyaukkyi township (Taungoo district, Bago-East region), artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military landed in the village. A 67-year-old villager was killed, and a 14-year-old boy sustained injuries. On the same day, the Myanmar military fired three rounds of 155mm Howitzer into Kaw Thar Say village at around 1:20 pm. At around 6:15 pm, the military fired two rounds of 155mm Howitzer into Kyauk Hmaw Hpa Yar Gyi village. The military also fired two 120mm artillery rounds and 18 rounds of 155mm, 120mm and 81mm artillery into Kyaung Kone village. Fatalities coded as 1.
