On 20 January 2024, in Ah Nauk Gant Gaw village of Gangaw township (Gangaw district, Magway region), the Myanmar military troops from IB-50 station in Gangaw fired 120 mm heavy artillery shells indiscriminately at around 2:30 pm and some shells landed in the village. The shelling killed a 46-year-old woman and her 10-month-old baby. The shelling also injured 66-year-old and 50-year-old two civilians. Two houses were damaged.
