UAV event in Yemen on Wed 24th January 2024
24th January 2024
On 24 January 2024, unidentified forces (likely Houthi forces) fired 2 drones targeting the Tomahawk bulk carrier (Liberia-flagged) in the South Red Sea around 100 nm northwest of Antufash Island. There were no fatalities or injuries as the drones impacted the water near the ship. The attack was not reported by Houthi/UKMTO/CENTCOM but a 'drone attack - missed' involving the ship was reported by a maritime security agency. Houthi forces did not claim the attack although it took place amid Houthi attacks against ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
