On 22 January 2024, near Moe Tay village (Hsipaw township, Kyaukme district, Shan-North state), a car stepped on a mine planted by an unidentified armed group near the Moe Tay bridge between Hsipaw and Namtu towns around 12 pm. The mine exploded, hitting and injuring a driver in a cargo car.
