An unknown drone crashed on the territory of the Russian Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl.

The governor of the Yaroslavl region of Russia, Mikhail Yevrayev announced this.

He noted that the alleged electronic warfare (EW) system that protects the plant was allegedly able to jammed the UAV’s signals.

According to Evraev, there was no fire or casualties due to the drone, and law enforcement agencies and special services are working at the scene.

Local Telegram channels report that early in the morning, residents of Yaroslavl heard sirens.

The SHOT Telegram channel writes that the drone fell at 6:39 a.m., and a small fire broke out, which the plant’s employees extinguished on their own.

According to some versions, the drone was carrying explosives.

Later, Russian federal media reported that experts had defused the explosives on the drone shot down in Yaroslavl.

“Specialists have neutralized explosives on the drone shot down in Yaroslavl, and the Slavneft-YANOS plant is operating normally,” the Russian media reported.

This Russian plant is located northeast of Moscow, 700 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

The released photos show the place where the engine used to be located in the head of the drone.

As previously reported, important defense, industrial, and even business centers in Russia are being equipped with Serp anti-drone systems. The equipment is being deployed at Russian fuel and energy facilities and defense companies.
