On 8 January 2024, militants attacked a police personnel convoy escorting an anti-polio team using an IED in Billoot area of Mamund Tehsil (Bajaur, KPK). 7 police personnel were killed and 29 injured. It is unclear who is responsible for the attack. Both TTP and ISKP claimed responsibility for the attack.
