On 15 January 2024, in Kyee Lay village (coded as Kyee Lay (Lower)) (Paletwa township, Matupi district, Chin state), the military from the Magway air base conducted airstrikes with a Jet Fighter on the village where most IDPs were taking refuge at around 2:30 pm, hitting and killing 4 including a 5-year-old and injuring 3 IDPs. The Paletwa township was declared junta-free after the ULA/AA took control of the town and there were no ground battles since.
