On 15 January 2024, in Myaung Bway village (Mrauk-U township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes with a fighter jet from the Magway airbase around 5:15 pm and dropped bombs three times, which fell and exploded near an old hospital and killed a 55-year-old man and a 45-year-old man. Three others, a 30-year-old man, a 55-year-old man and a 20-year-old pregnant woman, were severely injured.
