On 15 January 2024, in Sin Thay Pyin village (Buthidaung township, Maungdaw district, Rakhine state), the military LIB-209 under the LID-22 based in Buthidaung town fired heavy weapons nine times from the Sakaw Taung (San Gone mountain) outpost near Thonse Ta Bon pagoda and Nwar Yone Taung strategic outpost around 8 pm, which fell and exploded into the village where Rohingya lives and killed a 7-year-old girl and a 60-year-old woman. A 16-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl were also injured by the heavy weapon.
