On 15 January 2024, suspected Houthi forces fired 1 anti-ship ballistic missile toward the South Red Sea that fell short and landed and exploded in an uninhabited mountainous area near Nawbah (Jahaf, Ad Dali). Houthi forces did not claim the attack although it took place amid Houthi drone and missile attacks targeting ships with alleged links to Israel, the US, and the UK in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
