On 17 January 2024, in Lint Zin Ywar Thit village (Kyauktaw township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes using an Mi-35 helicopter gunship and fired artillery rounds into the village in the afternoon without an armed clash occurring. Six civilians including two children were killed, and several others sustained injuries. Several houses were also damaged.
