On 31 July, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer was killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast triggered by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres near Bodili under Mardum police station (Bastar District of Chhattisgarh), after CRPF was returning from an anti-Naxal operation.
