Around ten people died in the attack on the Fadiaka village by Mobondo militiamen on Tuesday January 23, in the territory of Kwamouth (Maï-Ndombe). The attackers also burned several houses, according to national deputies Garry Sakata and Guy Musomo, elected respectively from Bagata and Kwamouth.

A massive movement of population is also observed. These militiamen came from different surrounding villages to join Fadiaka when the FARDC soldiers had gone to another locality, indicate these elected officials. They ask the Government to impose peace in Kwamouth and Bagata.

“Around 4 a.m. Tuesday, Mobondo militiamen invaded the Fadiaka village. They killed almost 11 people, including three women. They were always equipped with arrows, machetes, 12 caliber weapons. It was a group of Mobondo from different villages. Particularly from Mitimitanu, Sengwa, Kingulu, and Zamba Poto. They went to massacre Fadiaka when they saw that the soldiers had left the place for an operation elsewhere. The military must be deployed in every nook and cranny of Kwamouth,” explained MP Guy Musomo.

These many displaced people are heading more towards the shore of the neighboring territory of Bagata, says MP Garry Sakata. This deputy, elected from Bagata, invites the Government to intervene to restore peace:

“This situation resembles, in my opinion, a small fire which is spreading and which risks getting out of control. We urgently and urgently call on the Ministers of Defense and Interior to take urgent measures to impose peace in the territory of Bagata in Kwilu, and in the territory of Kwamouth in the province of Maï-Ndombe.

For his part, the sector head of Wamba in Bagata, separated from Kwamouth by the Kwango River, speaks of 8 deaths during this attack against Fadiaka.
