On 25 July 2023, two IEDs presumably planted by Houthi forces exploded in Hayjat al Abd (Ash Shamayatayn, Taizz) on the Taizz - Aden road killing 4 members of the IRG 4th Mountain Infantry Brigade and injuring 2 civilians. The first IED killed the 4 fighters and injured others while the second IED injured 2 civilians who rushed as part of the rescue team. One source claimed that there was a third IED on the same road that was defused and another source reported unconfirmed gunfire following the IED explosions.
