On 28 July 2023, in Monywa town of Monywa township (Monywa district, Sagaing region), joint forces of Aung San Force of PDF - Monywa District Battalion-5 and People's Defense Force - Monywa (PaKaPha) fired one round of 107 mm heavy artillery shell against military officials' residential complex of the North-West Command at around 5 pm. At least six military soldiers were injured.
