On 27 September 2023, between Kan Gyi Kone and Kyauk Pa Nan village in Sagaing township (Sagaing district, Sagaing region), unidentified local defense forces carried out mine attacks against Myanmar military troops who were testing a train on the Sagaing-Ywar Htaung-Sar Yay-Kan Gyi Kone route at around 10 am. The train derailed. Casualties unknown.
