On 27 September 2023, near Hko San Tan village at the exit of Lashio town (Lashio township, Lashio district, Shan-North state), an unknown armed group set off a remote explosive at the Denko gas station around 5 pm. An express bus and a car were destroyed by the explosion. Two men were killed, eight men and four women were injured. They were sent to the Lashio Hospital for treatment. No one claimed responsibility for this explosion.
