A dozen Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and other items were seized from a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) camp during a two-day-long Search and Combing Operation (CASO) in Nalikumpha Forest under Manamunda Police limits in Boudh District of Odisha, reports odishabhaskar.in on December 16. Boudh Superintendent of Police (SP) Raj Prasad said a team of Special Operation Groups (SOG) had launched this search and combing operation on December 13. On December 14, an encounter took place (reported earlier by SATP) when Maoists opened fire and hurled bombs at the security personnel. Following the encounter incident, the combing operation in the area led to the recovery of 12 IEDs and a huge quantity of articles used by the Maoists from a deserted Maoist camp. According to reports, around 3040 Maoists of the KKBN (KandhamalKalahandiBoudh-Nayagarh) division were there in this camp.
