On January 7, Kuki militants attacked security forces (SFs),particularly Manipur Police personnel using sophisticated weapons including bombs in Moreh in Tengnoupal District of Manipur, reports The Sangai Express. The attack came after Kuki militants warned and asked the Kuki civilians to vacate the Moreh town before January 7. State security personnel retaliated resulting in heavy exchange of firing between the two sides. Moreh than 30 bombs, rocket-propelled grenade (RPGs) and Lathod bombs were fired by the Kuki militants toward the security personnel. No casualties were reported.
