On January 1, a six-month-old girl child was killed, her mother sustained a bullet injury on her hand, and two District Reserve Guards (DRG) jawans (personnel) were injured in the exchange of fire between the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) and DRG jawans in the forests of Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh, reports The Indian Express.
