On 30 December 2023, in Monywa town (Monywa township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Yinmarbin District PDF (battalions 21, 22 and 23), the Kani People's Defense Force - KLG, the Dragon Brothers Task Force and the Chindwin Brothers attacked the Northwest Regional Military Command with bombs attached to drones in the evening. The attack was carried under the 'Operation Phoenix'. Three military troops sustained injuries.
