On 3 January 2024, in in Kyawng Hkam town of Hseni township (Lashio district, Shan-North state), a drone strike landed on Kyaung Khan monastery school where IDP students learn at around 12 pm and killed a 16-year-old student and injured ten other students. No group claimed responsibility for the drone strike.
