On 4 January 2024, in Sein Nan village (Taze township, Shwebo district, Sagaing region), the military conducted airstrikes by dropping two 200 lb bombs and two rockets with YAK-130 Jet Fighters at around 2:47 pm. Khit Thit Media, Radio Free Asia, Myanmar Now and Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported 5 locals including a child were killed and 9 others were injured of which two were severe. Five houses and two hostels were also destroyed. Another source, VOA reported that the air bombs landed on a monastery school and two houses nearby, hitting and killing 7 locals (5 from two houses nearby and 2 from the monastery). Fatalities coded as 5 for the lowest estimates.
