On 23 December 2023, in Monywa town (Monywa township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Golden Eagle Force - Monywa-V2 and an unidentified local defense force attacked government staff and government officials, including the Chief Minister of Sagaing region, using a mine as they were organizing a march in Kan Thar Yar area at around 7 am. About eight government staff sustained injuries.
