On 23 December 2023, in Muse town (Muse township, Muse district, Shan-North state), a man stepped on a landmine while he was heading to his cattle farm located by the bank of the Shweli River in Ho Mon ward at around 1 pm. He lost one of his legs. Local assume that the mine was planted by the military as about 150 military troops stayed at local houses in Ho Mon ward on 17 December 2023.
