On 24 December 2023, in Ywar Haung Taw village of Mrauk-U township (Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), following the clash between the Myanmar military and the ULA/AA in the town (coded separately), heavy artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military troops landed in the village and injured a 40-year-old local civilian. BBC News reported that a 40-year-old man was killed and injured three others, including an 11-year-old girl.
