On 24 December 2023, an IED left behind by IS militants detonated killing a Kuwaiti and a Saudi persons on a fishing trip in Al Anbar province. Their burned vehicle and bodies were discovered in the Mashaif area of Anbar on 26 December. Coded as Anbar provincial capital Ramadi city.
