On 28 December 2023, in Kyauk Htone Gyi village (Katha township, Katha district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes five times with four fighter jets and an MI-35 helicopter from the Myitkyina airbase around 3 pm. A truck driver was injured and six cows carried on a truck were killed. Two houses were damaged. During the airstrike, the military troops of around 40 soldiers advanced from Katha town with a boat and fired heavy weapons from Ah Htet Tha Hpan Daunt village.
