On 28 December 2023, in Samee town (Paletwa township, Matupi district, Chin state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike around 11 am and dropped around 20 bombs without an armed clash occurring. The airstrike fell near the Leik Kone Kwat Thit church in the No.2 ward and severely injured three children. Military soldiers from Samee strategic outpost took the children and claimed that they will provide medical treatment.
